London based Irish designer Stephanie Grace Foy graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2007 to critical acclaim, quoted as "One To Watch' by The Irish Independent.
Foy moved to London and set her sights on developing her unique aesthetic by studying Creative Pattern Cutting at London College of Fashion. During this time she had the opportunity to work with various designers such as Avsh Alom Gur and Bora Aksu before spending a year working at Ossie Clark. There she continued to cultivate her classic pattern cutting skills whilst advancing her own ideas as a designer.
In 2009 Foy decided to delve back into study in order to explore her growing desire to create her own fashion line. Stephanie completed an M.A. in Women's Wear Fashion Design at Kingston University and in doing so discovered her unique vision for the future of materials and thus her affinity for visionary silhouettes.
In September 2010 under Kingston university, Stephanies collection was chosen to show at Vauxhall Fashion during London Fashion week. It was here that Stephanie Grace Foy the label was born. Her eponymous brand encapsulated elegant simplicity and saw a visionary mix of classic materials with Perspex. The result was a ready-to-wear line that not only embodied classicism and elegance but looked boldly to the future.
Branded as one of the "New Materiologists" (phillippa Wagner) Foy also exhibited at TENT where her arresting pieces gained even more international attention.
Much like her collections, Foy is always looking ahead and is currently working on "Hedonism", her A/W 2012 collection which she will be showing at London Fashion Week for Vauxhall Fashion Scout. The new collection is a continuation from her successful S/S line. Using a wider selection of colours and fashion forward fabrics Foy looks to create a moody, sensual line that not only epitomises the individual nature of the wearer but explores the notion of pleasure through fabric and movement.
