Since the late 90s, mErocrush has been using photography to explore alternative sexuality, collaborating with friends, models and fellow artists from all over the US and even overseas. This constant exploration has resulted in a large body of words and images that cast new light on many aspects of alternative sex: Fetishism, Bondage, Genderplay, Roleplay, BDSM, Heterosex, Homosex...everything and anything his collaborators were courageous enough to show mErocrush and his cameras.
The "Proof" series is a retrospective of sorts - broken up into portable, pocket-size volumes mErocrush hopes will find a more intimate role in the life of readers than the typical, ponderous coffee-table books that are the norm in artistic circles. "I like making small books," he is fond of saying. "A small book belongs anywhere: a sock/underwear drawer, a toybag, a night stand, a bath stand...anywhere, everywhere. I like small books because it's easier for them to be where the action is."
Like any obsessive artist, mErocrush frequently finds himself revisiting favorite subjects. For the last year or so, his subject of choice has been genderplay fetish, an emphasis on FTM transition. In his travels and shooting, mErocrush has been lucky enough to find more than a few subjects willing to explore this area of fetish sexuality with him. The results of these collaborations are gathered in the "SWITCH" series of books. Currently 4 volumes strong, the "SWITCH" books are pocket-sized and brief ("bite size" as mErocrush likes to describe them), featuring on the most interesting, most intense and most thought provoking images in this particular phase of his exploration of alternative sexuality.
Kindred spirits who have never met, mErocrush, Caedmon Eries and Charlene Ong have created a shared tour of desires, fantasies, sensations and emotions in their first collaborations together. "WITNESS" is the result of that collaboration, an intersection of sex, art, prose and pictures. Both "WITNESS" collaborations are available in pocket size and full size editions
