I shoot 'slice of life' work. People, mostly beautiful, living life and often doing 'everyday things' - in a beautiful way, of course. Sometimes fashionable, but most of the time not 'fashion' per se. I make images to sell things by creating an emotion and often using motion. Sometimes it is big time fun and sometimes it is softer and more tender. I often seek out scenarios where there is interaction among subjects. I strive to capture moments and need energetic, fun loving subjects to help make that happen. The work that I aspire to and love the most is that where the subject has an ease and level of comfort so that it appears an image was a 'snap shot' taken by a close friend on the other end of the lens. I am not interested in contrived body positions or agonizing looks of pain and in that regard I really don't shoot 'fashion.' I don't want to shoot people looking 'fierce,' posed or overly pouty. If this is what you want to do I am not the right photographer. I want you to show me who YOU are and I want to see YOUR PERSONALITY while we are shooting. Often, the more personality the better! I like to work collaboratively where we lead each other - again the right amount of 'go get em' personality is key to success. If you like to have fun while shooting - we will likely be a good fit. I am primarily a location photographer and thus will be interested in what locations you may be able to offer or know of that would be worth considering.
Check out my main site linked above and let me know if you are interested in working together. I am interested in collaborative efforts where we all do our part to make something great.
I don't charge for these shoots, but I also don't shoot comp cards and so am choosy about who I shoot with. I ask for a model release from all of my subjects.
Currently looking for Portland and Seattle area makeup artists who are interested in lifestyle portfolio testing. Please be in touch if so.
