So you'd like to know more about the origins, ideas and people behind White Rabbit Co?
...Well, let's start with the easy question; who is White Rabbit Co?
The answer is pretty simple. It’s just me. My name is Florie and I started this project since I graduated from De Montfort University's Fashion and Contour Design Degree course in 2010. The most important thing to note is that at the moment, it is simply that; a project. I have many dreams and aspirations but try as I might I never pick the right lottery numbers. As well as this I work full time as a Stylist, Seamstress and Website Builder for a bridal boutique so you can see why things can get quite quiet on this page and I am sometimes difficult to get hold of, however all emails do get answered!
Ignoring the stats and facts, I am incredibly passionate about all the work I do and have a very creative brain so don't be afraid to approach me with even the most insane sounding ideas for bespoke designs or collaborations.
I've done a lot of shoots and TFP work before which I absolutely love, whether it's just a model requesting to borrow a wardrobe or a photographer who bases an idea around some outfits or even collaborations of ideas a model or photographer wants to develop with my skills into an ensemble for a one-off or published shoot. Those were the days when I wasn't in full time employment of course. Now my time is massively limited and I can't produce new garments as quickly. If you live locally to Leicester and want to shoot with me then please give me plenty of warning if you're looking for something to be designed for you and preferably arrange it for a Sunday or Monday so that I can attend. I rarely loan out items by post now as too much has gone missing and even with security deposits, the time I put in and even sometimes the fabrics I used are lost for good.
So now you know a bit about me, let me share with you my vision.
As I mentioned, I have a creative brain and I love corsetry! I never limit myself to one specific genre, my work just is what it is and while some people say it falls entirely under one category or another, that's purely in the eye of the beholder. I'm a very mixed character, so my designs reflect the same; gothic, alternative, steampunk, hippy, fairytale, romantic, powerful, enchanting, unique... whatever comes naturally. Essentially, White Rabbit Co is all about letting yourself indulge in something you love; light or dark fantasies - both are beautiful!
There are many more pictures on my website however most of what you see here and on there at the moment is past work for specific university or catwalk projects so there isn't much flow from one album to the next.. almost like mini collections. However, in my messy little warren (that's "home studio" to all you non-bunnies), I have designs and patterns drawn for my first full collection of 6 corsets and 4 dresses all named after famous Poets and Writers (collection title still to be decided) and at least half a set of designs for a second collection named after Angels and Demons.
