As a young girl growing up in war-torn Ethiopia, acting was my escape. The skeletal faces of the starving children that stared through my car windows faded away as I sang “doe, a deer” in the Swiss Alps, consoled Annie in a New York orphanage and blew my trumpet as a cheery Munchkin. I moved to Kenya in 2001, and completed highschool in East Africa.
I decided to plunge into full-time acting training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, where I honed my performance skills under the tutelage of great professionals. My two-year program culminated in May 2010.
As you can see, my modelling career has theatrical roots; I started doing print work after I moved to Los Angeles and haven't looked back since. As in film and theatre, I love creating a character for my modelling work and seeing that energy translate onto the page. Let me know if you are interested in working with me!
