Photography is my passion, although this is not how I make a living. I am a tax attorney, and this is my hobby, but I am very serious. I love to work with models regardless of experience level.
My particular interest is brown-eyed women, particularly (but not limited to) African Americans. I wish to convey the power inherent in the look of brown eyes, which is an aesthetic fascination I have had since childhood. Brown eyes express warmth. The eye is the window to the soul. It is the starting point to where I want to go with my work.
Although I am not African American, I do think I have an ability to thematically capture an individual AA model's unique beauty within this context, seeking always to capture the essence of the juxtaposition of facial features, onyx eyes and skin tone. I am a 55 year-old white person, and grew up in New Orleans in a deeply racist culture, especially when I was a child; the lifelong effect of this experience and my life experience growing up as things are and have been, with all the contradictions and inconsistencies, perhaps is the spark of the artistic interest of where I want to go with my work.
