Donnell Carr is a Fashion, Michigan based photographer, established in the industry with his early use of photojournalism techniques in landscape photography, striking editorial, commercial portraits, and his use of alternative lighting techniques in black & white photography.
He is also notable for using his skills to promote music of all genres with videography/cinematography . He has worked in a wide range of photographic specialties including: Photojournalism, Commercial, Theatrical/Glamour Headshots, Pictorial , Editorial, and Fashion Photography.
Donnell Carr was born in Flint, Michigan and grew up in Grand Blanc, where he attended Grand Blanc High School/Flint Northern. and later moved to various parts of Michigan. He became interested in photography while working and selling clients camera's at best buy where he learned and fell in love with technology, with studying and lot's of practice photographing people and events, an interest which transformed almost immediately into a career.
Donnell graduated from SVSU with a degree in Business Management. After his graduation he began covering assignments as a photographer in fashion cities around around the globe. Highlights in his work have been covering Mercedes Benz Fashion week in New York, Miami fashion Week Swim, London Fashion Week, photo shoots for Melissa Odabash, Chicago Fashion Art Magazine, and Emily Rosey.
Today, Donnell works as Regional Midwest Creative Manager for Adobe and still works part time as a Geek Squad agent in his home town. He is best known as an entertainment industry photographer shooting movie cinematography and studio head shots for up and coming actors musicians and entertainers, he photographs weddings, events and commercial editorial assignments as well. Donnell list Tom Ford, Common, Wes Anderson, Danny Clinch,Yoann Lemoine, and Dimitris Theocharis as his major inspirations.
