Hello, My name is Michael. I am 20 years old and attended Parsons for Fashion Design. I have been an amateur photographer for a few years with a focus on fashion. I am currently the fashion editor for BITE Magazine, an online publication bringing forward new talent from across the globe.
I rarely use reflectors, strobes or any lighting equipment. I enjoy working outdoors for the beauty of natural lighting. My photographic inspirations are Corrine Day, Hedi Slimane, and David Armstrong. I'm mainly attracted to dark beauty. The things that the average person will find repulsive, and showing them the beauty I see. I love the fashion styling of Panos Yiapanis and Olivier Rizzo and the design aesthetic of Riccardo Tisci, Olivier Theyskens, Miuccia Prada, and Raf Simons.
I don't over direct my models. There is just something so beautiful about free flow movements and innate talent. I do, of course, explain my vision and give rough pointers, but trust the model to bring their own energy to a shoot. I hope to find raw talent. Nothing more inspires me.
I am currently living in Oakland, CA., But am wiling to travel around the Bay Area. Please feel free to contact me for more information. I'd love to collaborate with so many of you!!
