I'm a visual person with an innate inability to draw or paint, so the camera has become my weapon of choice. I'm cooler than many rock stars and if you have a hard time believing that you can talk to my mom...she'll set you straight. In addition to being pretty cool I'm very laid back so I often take a "Let's just roll with it" approach. Feel free to bring a big, frightening dood along to any shoot if you feel safer that way. If you don't have access to one, a boyfriend|girlfriend|husband|wife, etc will suffice.
I'm a longtime subscriber to the mindset that "shit happens". Having said that...I'm completely cool with people cancelling or rescheduling a shoot. Hell, I've done it myself and I'm no hypocrite. Just take into consideration that many photographers rent gear & studio space for these shoots and some even take time off from their day jobs to accommodate your schedule. If you repeatedly flake at least do me the favor of not asking for any subsequent shoots because I really loathe giving that emo "I'm done wasting time with you." speech.
