I write about photography for Popular Photography.

I like having fun shooting photography and enjoy working with friends. Beautiful women are favorite subjects, but I shoot just about everything. When shooting news, runway or movie stars I often "take it in one", get the right shot the first time.

Many know me as the project leader for CinePaint, a free, open source, high dynamic range alternative to Photoshop. I enjoy the post process.

My parents gave me a Nikon SLR when I was still a kid living on the farm. By the time I was 19, I was working at a Hollywood film lab making prints on a Chromega Super D. I put together the system there to re-can scrap 35mm motion picture film for use in SLR cameras, overcoming the challenges of processing it for stills. I'm glad to be in the digital age so I'm not mixing smelly chemicals and working in the dark.
