Driftwood Photography Studios is a collection of work by Benjamin Ginsberg. Now based in Orange County, CA I grew up between the southern Connecticut shore and mountains of Vermont. A sense of adventure brought me out of the mountains to the shores of Australia, where I spent a year learning to surf, and began taking shots of surfing and the amazing landscape that is Australia. I soon learned that with little more than my camera and surfboard I was immensely happy. Largely self-taught, it was a polite inquiry on a plane from Sydney back stateside to Los Angeles that lead to my first fine art sale. Since then I have combined my passion for adventure and action sports with my love for photography. As part of photographing action sports I began to shoot the associated lifestyle, capturing moments, portraits, and events, branching into associated commercial works. It doesn’t matter what one takes a photograph of; there is always the opportunity to make it timeless.
I love the look of outdoor and natural light photography, but am equally comfortable in controlled lighting situations/studios, or photographing in/under water. It all depends on the desired look and vision we are shooting for, and the comfort of the model. I strive for the utmost professionalism and ease in my work. I make my living with my camera, so my shoots are paid. Please don't hesitate to contact me for rates and scheduling. I occasionally do some very select TFP/TFCD work when time permits.
