My photography tends to be more artistic or documentary than Maxim-slick. I look for the aesthetics of what's in a picture (and maybe help it along a bit). I have a studio in Minneapolis, and I also love to shoot on location.
I'm very interested right now in exploring how the interaction between light and shadow affects the mood and message of an image.
I do mostly paid work -- models' and actors' headshots and portfolio development, weddings and events, editorial and annual reports, product shots, images for businesses, and photoassisting. ("Paid" includes barter work -- I've traded my photography for auto repair, studio lighting, a catered party, massage therapy, hand-painted clothing, computer repair, magazine advertising, carpet cleaning, house painting, ... and of course, modeling.)
I do a limited amount of TF* work to help select models and actors with their ports. You don't have to be super-experienced, 18 or gorgeous -- but it helps if you have an open mind, a shared vision, and/or some creative ideas of your own.
Editors: I'm a skilled journalist -- for national and local magazines, newspapers, trades, and electronic pubs. Contact me just for photos or for a complete editorial/photo package.
