You could describe my work as Fine Art portraiture and fashion photography. The pictures in this portfolio were all taken with a Canon Rebel t3i. Some using natural light, some with the occasional use of one or two speed lights off camera, and some in a studio using two lights.
My love for photography stems from traveling the country for years without a camera, and living with the regret of never capturing and documenting my experiences to remember and share forever. My obsession with documentation grew into an outlet for the creativity that was boxed up inside of me. I soon saw through the lens, that human beings, particularly women, are the most beautiful creatures on earth. Eventually, that was all that I wanted to photograph and I grew very passionate about doing so.
This passion has filled my life with purpose, something I have never had before. I need to create and shoot to feel alive, to feel excitement, gratification, and happiness. I need it to just to be able to breath.
Looking back it makes sense that I want to be a fashion photographer. As a young girl I used to love sifting through the pages of BAZAAR and VOGUE, tearing out all of my favorite pictures, and plastering them all over my bedroom walls. To me they were beautiful, magnificent works of art.
I love creating worlds within worlds. Set design, props, wardrobe, hair, makeup. It's all a fantastic journey in creating a world that only exists in my imagination, and sharing it with others in hopes that it is just as enchanting for them.
My work is known for it's organic feeling, it's incorporation of nature, and it's dramatic and magical qualities. I hope you enjoy it!
