About me
I have just become Fashion Editor and stylist for geeked magazine. First issue out in October 2012 featuring Caitlin Moran.
A big hello to all you models and artists out there I cannot wait to begin working with you.
First off here is a list of points that I want to make clear
1: I do not think this is a dating site.
2: I do not think that model=escort.
3: Just because you are naked does not mean your body is up for grabs.
4: What is said or done on a shoot stays on the shoot.
Okay you may or may not know me already but I already have pages on here for design and styling, and after several opportunities to shoot a couple of models on shoots I styled for, I figured I may as well cut out the middleman and branch into photography as well, largely because;
-I have often been the one giving models direction on shoots
-There are shoots I want to do that some photographers just dont get.
-I have been on a shoot and seen fantastic opportunities for fabulous images slip away because the guy with the gun cant shoot the side of the barn (if you get what I mean)
- I was fed up of fashion shoots I was enlisted for, soon slipping into underwear/nude shoots where the model ends up oiled up, full frontal, and regretting being talked into it by a photographer he initially trusted.
Okay now to business. As I am starting out the majority of work I am doing will be TFP unless I am asking you to do nude then I will pay a fee which will be discussed.
Now models as important as you are, after all without you there would be no pictures, and as incredible as your bodies may be, please be sensible with the rates you are asking for, especially if you are just starting out. Asking for £400 + to do a shoot is a sure fire way to let a photographer know you are going to be high maintenance on the shoot. I know for a fact that models from top agencies who are just building a port, the agency charge a fee of up to £100 for a shoot of anything up to underwear, and a percentage of that goes to the agency. and lets be honest the majority of us on here are trying to build a port to get to the big money shoots.
Also bear in mind that a photographer will also be paying for studio/location hire
MUA, stylist, and retoucher. I do all my own styling, so I will buy in the clothes, and source for loans. My time will also be used in the retouching as I do all my own.
Unlike most photographers I will give you a disc of all the images taken on the day, and you may select the images you wish to be retouched. I will also give you a release form to sign that is in plain english.
As my background is in menswear then men is what I want to shoot.
