I'm a pretty big guy at 6'2" 210 lbs. but I'm mostly behind the camera. I've worked in Hollywood for 13 years as a feature film animator and now I shoot models in LA for their portfolios or for my ownwebsites like my FREE tall men's photo website www.bigdonsboys.com
. Really enjoy helping other VGL guys with their websites and photos. I either pay for subjects, invite my friends to model, or get paid to shoot headshots and portfolios.
I'm best at getting smiling pics because I make the subject laugh, be relaxed and act real. I shoot a large number of digital photos in a short time and preview all the shots for the talent so they know whether it is working or not. I end up getting a surprising number of good shots despite the fact that my photo equipment is pretty basic. I have access to lights and reflectors and those things are great but take also time and can intimidate the talent. I rely on imperfect natural lighting and use my top notch digital skills to compensate for suboptimal lighting. My buddies end up looking great! Of courses it helps that they are buff and gorgeous to start with
But even though I am a Disney artist and computer graphic whiz one thing I NEVER DO is use PHONEY PHOTOSHOP FILTERS to make the subject look like a chrome-skinned robot without pores in their face. In fact, if you can tell I photoshopped your photo I have not done my job!
