I'm a fine art painter working in San Francisco, but will travel where the fuck ever if necessary to paint. Here's the thing, painting is much different than photography, yet i believe neither are superior, to each they are an art form, an expression of the artist. Both, of course, have their professionals and their garbages.
When i paint, i put my heart and soul into the hours, days, weeks of painting the one image.. so when it comes to modeling for my images, i desire something beyond the sheer ability to pose well and act seductive for a lens. I need a personality that i resonate with, a person and a figure who work well as a model and muse for the idea, the emotion, which i will be spending countless hours in creating, recreating form and face, color and line, body and soul. This does not come easy and requires something beyond modelling..
Most of those on my friends list are those rare few. I do not friend randomly in order to "get ahead in the industry" for i work outside the supposed industry. Fine art painting is not an "industry" per se' it is a lifestyle i will breathe and die with, and i am here looking for individuals, people, personalities, figures, who resonate with me and what i desire to say about my art, with an image of them that will, hopefully, outlast us all.
I am %100 serious in what i do, even if that "seriousness" seems rather strangley informal. I feel my work speaks for itself, and those who have posed for me, and remain, to this day, as dear friends, will attest to my work..
If i message you to pose, it means you have a look, a quality, i think could work in some images i wish to create.. i only hope your personality is quality par as well, and would need to know that too.
All i ask, is that you don't flake, that you be your damn self, and that you realize that posing for an artist, is not the same as what you may be used to. (much of my inspiration comes from photographers, current and long dead, so its not a debate against medium, its a debate against the current majority of this website.)
other than all that crap, i'd say i'm pretty easy to be around, friendly as a lost kitten, harmless and well natured, professional in my sometimes nonsensical behavior.. etc etc.. if you have questions, just please ask, strike up a conversation.
i'd rather know who i paint than simply paint a photo.
