Hi there, I'm a professional photographer with a background that includes 7 years in NYC and 4 in Minneapolis, MN working in editorial, documentary and commercial photography. I relocated to Athens, GA just over a year ago.
I like shooting beautiful pictures and working with talented people who are RELIABLE. If you are interested in working with me, please first look at my website,
www.tobinrussell.com, then friend me here because you love the work, then send me a real email at tobin at tobinrussell.com and we'll take it from there.
I like to keep my shoots interesting and work through a variety of shots, but not be too overly time consuming. I generally know when the shot's in the can and move on to the next shot or wrap up that shot. Although it should be said, that sometimes shoots work so well, it's a good idea to keep going for awhile while it's all working so well.
I encourage models to bring friends who like to do styling or hair or makeup, cause I don't do any of that stuff except pull hair out of your face when I need to. I do know people who get paid to do styling and hair.
About my work:
I'm an editorial/journalistic/commercial photographer from New York City and Minneapolis shooting environmental, 'filmic' images of implied situations in specific environments. There is usually an implied narrative, but I like to keep the images tight and beautiful in their own right.
My music/documentary/style photography has been featured in XXL Magazine (NYC), Fader Magazine (NYC), Stay Free! Magazine (NYC), Mpls/St. Paul Magazine (Minneapolis, MN), Rake Magazine (Minneapolis). I've had several solo gallery shows both in NYC an MPLS.
Here in AThens, I've shot two calendars "Athens Hottest Bartenders" for Play and "Real Men Wear Pink" for Athens Banner Herald. In 2011, I've been photographing the 2011 Concerts on the Lawn Series at Ashford Manor. (

I've got RULES
- If we're going to work together I will need your phone number and you will get mine.
- All scheduled shoots being canceled must be canceled via PHONE or TEXT (NOT email) 24 hours before the shoot. Fail to do so and I will not work with you again.
- Call a day in advance to cancel and I will reschedule
Jerk me around and it's over before it started :-( but at least I'm not tearing my hair out because you're a flake. Keep the communication open and I'll be happy to make great pictures with/of you, cause I deliver the goods.
Look forward to working with you!
Cheers,
-Tobin
