About MeI'm a writer, photographer, musician, producer, and the author of 'the rails' (www.TheRailsNYC.com) and "Dumpster Diver the musical" (www.DumpsterDiverMusical.com).
I entertain and inspire people.
I take pictures. I tell stories. I compose songs.
You can find out about my creative projects at: www.KrisKemp.com
For me, photography is a way to document people, places, and events, to set these moments apart and give them meaning. For me, writing and photography combine a way to connect the dots, to make sense of things, to help people remember the singular moment that, otherwise, may have been forgotten.
Photo Studio - Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York
I have a photo studio (you can see it in my pictures) just outside my Artist-In-Residence (AIR) studio, that captures magnificent morning light. You can see pictures of this Brooklyn, New York loft at www.instagram.com/BrooklynNYLoft and at https://www.facebook.com/67-The-Loft-126893787661309/
Address of the loft & photo studio:
Kris Kemp (studio manager)
67 Metropolitan Avenue, 4th floor (freight elevator & stairs)
Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York 11249
Currently, I'm using my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone to take pictures, but am planning to buy a professional mirror-lens camera very soon.
Book a Photo Session
At the moment, I am open, schedule permitting, to take pictures of people a the photo studio for free. In exchange for you posing for photos, I will send you unedited digital copies of the photos.
If you do require photo editing, I understand the basics of photo editing, on a rudimentary level, and use Photoline (Photoshop type software) for this task. I am willing to do the photo editing for a reasonable fee or some kind of barter (food, drink, or exchange of goods and services).
As well as being a writer and photographer, I am also a working actor specializing in BackGround (BG) acting, also known as extra work. It's an interesting job that's kind of like being at a summer camp for creative adults, or being in the movie "The Breakfast Club" except with 200 people. I'm toying with the idea of writing a novel about my experiences working as an extra in New York City. If this does happen, I will title the book "Extra Confidential: An inside look at the life of an extra working in movies and TV shows in New York City". www.ExtraConfidential.com
I've written 4 screenplays ...
The Last Pizza Delivery Driver (on Earth)
The Lost Orange
I have written log-lines, synopsis's, treatments, and step outlines for a number of other screenplays that I have in the works.
If you have questions, feel free to contact me. I prefer email.
