Maria Isabel Arenas was born on a beautiful spring day in Coco Solo, Panama. Mia was raised in what is now known as the former Panama Canal Zone.
Mia developed her passion for clothing at an early age. Being surrounded by the beautiful fabrics and garments of the country, she watched in awe as her mother would custom design any fabric and make beautifully styled dresses and outfits.
Encouraged by her father, Mia (the name she adopted for herself using the initials of her name) began her Fashion Design studies at Houston Community College. Mia later transferred to Texas Tech, where she competed and placed 1st in the Sportswear category of the Dallas Career Day Competition and 2nd in the Cotton category in the Natural Fiber Competition.
Mia stays creative by freelancing for several fashion designers in the Houston area. We can proudly say her greatest accomplishment was designing and making both her sisters’ wedding dresses.
Mia currently resides in Houston with her wonderful husband and two handsome young sons.
