About me
Considered a member of the new emerging class of designers and viewed more as representatives of the world, than citizens of one country, American artist Thomas Massanier is a member of the new generation raised without borders, born in the South of Spain and raised between Paris and Washington DC , Massanier expresses the diverse cultural experiences through his seasonal Fashion presentations,various film collaborations and fine art instillations . Massanier attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he would receive a BFA in Fine Art with a minor in Fashion Design.

Massanier went on to work with Chicago fashion legends Dorothy Fuller(FGI) and Susan Glick (WAMMP) ,Subsequent employment with leading fashion brands Michael Kors, Versus, St.John and model management powerhouse Ford Modeling Agency (Chicago) where he cut his teeth assisting stylist and international fashion publications 10 magazine, Teen Vogue , Arena Homme +, and Dazed and Confused.

In 2007 Massanier returned to Paris to apprentice at French couture house Christian Lacroix. Massanier credits Lacroix with teaching him the most about designing clothes saying “Lacroix wasn't about just selling sewn pieces of fabric, Monsieur(Lacroix) taught us about the art behind fashion, the craftsmanship, but most importantly the love....being at Lacroix was my greatest revelation". Following his apprenticeship, Thomas returned to New York spending three years working under Diane Von Furstenburg, Luca Luca and iconic American fashion brand Halston before returning to California to pursue the launch of his own label. The collection began predominately with tailored shirts represented by 4 silhouettes. In Fall 2012, it had evolved into a full Women’s ready-to-wear line .

Today, the Thomas Massanier brand has a cult like following with a strong retail presence in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil and Tokyo, Japan. In January of 2014 Massanier Homme is scheduled to launch its long awaited e-commerce website selling an edited collection of ready-to-wear and accessories. Men’s and Women’s categories offer ready-to-wear, and the MSSC(Meryl Streep Social Club) collection, a curation of uncompromising luxury apparel and lifestyle items, which are sold exclusively to 10 of the world’s leading retailers.

Massanier is known for his uncompromising commitment to personal luxury, bold style and exotic fabrics backed by clean, crisp silhouettes. Signature pieces include the Massanier Classic Stiff shirt, bias cut Cashmere T-shirt, and the printed sheath .
