About Me

Jennifer Toole is a photographer best known for her medium format fine art nudes. Her process stems from the cultivation of an organic and unadulterated relationship with her subjects. From that raw point of connection, the tension or energy of the photograph, timeless images are made.

Her work has been published in Vogue.it, People, Glamour, Huffington Post UK, The Daily Mail, Toronto Life, ELLE Canada, i-D, Complex,, and more. Jennifer spent two years as art director and house photographer at Toronto design house, Northbound Leather. She was also the house photographer at Soho House Toronto during its first year. Only in her fourth year of business, Jennifer is well on her way to making an impact with her photography.

In January 2015 Jennifer launched feminist website Herself.com with actress Caitlin Stasey. Herself.com is an ongoing project dedicated to showcasing real women, in body and mind, without affectation. Following the launch over 3000 women from all over the world emailed the site interested in participating in the project, which includes a nude photo shoot and an interview. Jennifer’s photos of the initial ten participants were all shot on medium format film with natural light and without retouching. Her photos from the project went viral. In addition to all the printed press Jennifer did a radio interview on The Barry Morgan Show discussing the project and gave a talk at The Museum entitled Nude: Object vs. Subject.

Jennifer shoots fine art, portraiture, corporate, fashion, lifestyle, and event photography in Los Angeles, Toronto, Paris, and New York. She works digitally with a Canon 5D MIII, Zeiss lenses, and a fleet of 35mm and 120mm film cameras. Her aim is always to get the shot in camera, relying little on post-production.

Jennifer is dedicated to using her photography to help eradicate the epidemic of low self-esteem affecting women today as much as she is able. Her upcoming project Fertilize My Thoughts: The Goddess Array will work toward this goal.
