Mayhem # 2586003
About MeI am an aspiring photographer, artist, etc.
I got into photo re-touching many years ago at one of my jobs. It was at that time that I learned the basics of photo re-touching. I have since made working with photographs (both for re-touching purposes and artistic/creative purposes) my hobby; and it has continued to be so for many years now.
I consider myself a semi-experienced photo re-toucher AND photographer.
Personally, I don't think I am a very good photographer (however, I don't think I am the worst either). There are lots of photographers who are far better than I can ever hope to be . . . but that is not really the point now is it? If I was shooting photography for my pay-check, the quality of my work would be crucial. However, I am doing it for purely artistic purposes and am learing along the way. My skills at photo re-touching are much better than my photographic skills, however I am not sure which I love more. Only time will tell.
Having said that, neither photography or photo re-touching are my day-to-day profession--they are only a passion project for me.
My professional experience with re-touching includes working with local businesses, models, etc. in order to help them with their advertising, promotional, or professional needs. I am definitely not trying to turn my passion into my full time career (as I am skeptical of turning my passion into a JOB).
Finally, if anyone needs any help in getting some photos re-touched, please just shoot me a message. I love to work with people on different projects and am willing to lend a hand where I can. Thanks!
P.S. - While most of the photos in my profile are photos that I have personally taken, some of the photos are not! Of the photos that I didn't take myself you will find (1) that some were sent to me by the model or photographer who asked me to work on the photo itself; (2) some of the photos are from a model/photographer that I contacted and asked to work on their photos (and they were gracious enough to share their photo with me for this purpose); (3) some of the photos are shots that I simply found and have transformed into my own works of art; and finally (4) there are photos that I personally shot myself.
[Regardless of which category above the photo falls under, I have the permission to display the photo as my own work. Further, all of the photos that I have used or worked on were shared and used under a Creative Commons License.]
