I've been shooting since I got my first SLR as a kid back in 1981 and today I do this primarily because I love photography. Thank God I don't depend solely on photography for a living because that can be a very meager road. Since I'm not Annie Liebovitz or Ansel Adams, I use my other interests to pay the bills. I do paid shoots as time permits as well as pro-bono shoots for projects I consider important to the community. I do stock photography as well - mostly outdoor portrait shots.

While many photographers focus on the body, for me it's all about the face. An emotional facial portrait, that captures someone's story in the moment is where I get the greatest personal satisfaction. You probably won't find my work in a fashion magazine - but you might find it decorating someone's wall as artwork (I hope!)

I end up doing a lot of my own scouting across the PacNW from years of alpine & rock climbing, backpacking, bike racing etc. I've accumulated a huge mental database of unique locations for shoots.
