I am a creative director who moved to Oregon from NYC to escape the 27.5 hour workdays of the city. Now live and work in LA. Years ago I was a working photographer and after I went into advertising (and having all of my photo gear stolen in Miami) I focused on my ad career.
Well, now I am returning to shooting, 95% for personal projects, and am planning some projects in the near future. Long story short, I will be approaching the next projects in a very old-school sort of way, with MEDIUM AND LARGE FORMAT FILM. I love digital and still shoot a lot of digital but in my opinion you really can't beat the beauty and realism of film, especially in medium and large format.
I WILL NOT PHOTOGRAPH JUST ANYONE. I look for faces that stand out. Just "beauty" doesn't cut it in this hyper competitive business. I want a strong person with a fire and passion behind the face. It comes out in photographs. As I'm shooting primarily medium and large format film each shoot runs me between $200-500 just to shoot and process. I don't take this lightly and I won't waste my time or yours.
I have been a creative director for some of the biggest and best ad agencies and design firms for over 20 years. I have worked on and led efforts for clients like Sony, Jaguar, Absolut, Pepsi, Miller Brewing Company and many more. I won't settle for average or mundane. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to experiment and push boundaries as far as possible to see if we can find something new that makes people say WTF(?) and question their perspectives. All in a professional, respectful way. Oh, and have fun while doing it of course.
Inspire me an I'm up for almost anything. I'll travel and I'll invest as much as needed to get the image I see in my head.
