I am Zaiden! My photographs feature bold, unconventional and fantastical images. For the past 12 years, I have worked as an independent photographer doing free lance work, special events, and fashion shows. My work is my life. My life is my work. I view the world with a sense of composition and create new visions with or without camera in hand. My passion began at a very young age and I soon learned that it could be a powerful tool wherein I could channel my imagination, building and conceptualizing within all I creatively became.
I am a self-taught artist learning everything I can on the journey to owning and mastering the 'tricks of the trade'. The beauty that I find in being an artist is the true sense of following my minds eye and perfecting the visual stimuli that abounds.
I've also spent time working as a producer in the advertising industry and an artistic director in the fashion industry. My pictures and imagery are recognizable for their bright colors, avant-garde style, and above all, for unique and surprising poses. In magazine spreads, gallery work, and advertising campaigns, I am keen on projecting the imaginary yearnings and popular culture of our time.
I have a studio located in downtown Toronto and it houses wardrobes upon wardrobes of costumes and props. My studio is not necessarily the best setting for photography, rather, I see context and, importantly, the comfort of my subjects as being critical components needed to truly be able to test new concepts.
My body of work has been featured in numerous gallery shows, magazines and newspapers. As well, both PhotoEd Magazine and The Toronto Star have done articles highlighting my life and work.
I am available to do private sittings, special events, runway shows, and commercial projects, and I approach all new projects with unbridled enthusiasm.
