My name's Hannah and I am a stylist.
I have been involved with styling and producing images for the past few years.
I started off as Teen Fashion Editor for COSMOgirl in 2007, producing a page of my selected items.
I assisted costume making for local productions and went on to study Theatre and Performance and the University of Leeds. There I assisted costume making, sourcing and dressing backstage for productions within the University. I also contributed to the Leeds Student newspaper and to their online content, selecting fashion picks for the week.
In my final year I was the Fashion and Style Editor for the Leeds Student Newspaper. This involved organising fashion shoots every other week including selecting a photographer, the models, the theme and the clothing for a shoot.
We shot looks for the 'Summer ball,' 'Autumn fashion,' 'Halloween,' 'Winter wear,' 'Christmas sparkle,' 'Colourblocking' and 'Menswear.'
I then went on to do my MA in Fashion Styling at the Birmingham City University.
In the first semester I undertook styling research, as well 4 of my own photoshoots and one for my friend's eco fashion brand. I styled a glamorous, evening wear shoot involving pretty dresses, shoes and accessories. A vintage shoot on location in the streets at night involving glamorous vintage clothing. A romantic autumnal shoot on location in the day by the lakeside, involving soft autumnal layering and casual winter wear. An underground shoot involving attitude, rebellious, black and gold styling. I assisted with the styling and art direction for my friend's lookbook involving 1920s inspired eco-fashion pieces for both the day and night.
I also undertook work experience at the Maxim Fashion Agency in London as well as networking with PR companies. I also had a part-time internship with My Deluxe.com helping to launch their facebook promotion and writing up their garments for the website. I also assisted with marketing plans and strategies for promotion.
In Semester two I undertook 4 mini projects, including a client portfolio for three different photographers, a personal styling project and two lookbook photoshoots.
The client portfolio included styling two models for their portfolio with a photographer and styling a vintage bridal shoot both indoors and outdoors as well as doing the hair and make-up.
The personal styling project involved re-styling four ladies, giving them a complete make-over along with their hair and make-up. I then photographed them in the studio, showcasing their new looks.
I produced two lookbooks with different types of styling. The first was an eclectic vintage lookbook, pulling together unusual looks similar to the style of Urban Outfitters.
The final lookbook was based on the theme of 'Colour,' again using unusual and creative styling to create an intriguing lookbook.
I edited the photographs for some of the client work and for the rest of the projects as well as designing and producing my own lookbooks.
