Brux Designs – Who am I?

Through a blend of classic, contemporary, and candid photography, Brian’s images capture life, wonder and emotions as they unfold. Brian lives and breathes photography, and his images are guaranteed to capture the very essence of the moment that you desire to be captured.

Brian’s humorous, easygoing approach quickly warms hearts and enables people to relax and trust him, thereby making the capturing of your images as natural and enjoyable as a day at the Fun Fair. Combining passion with exhuberant personality, Brian defies normality in service and creativity, taking the experience of a “Photo-shoot” to new heights of professionalism. With exacting detail put into every project, Brian is sure to exceed your expectations and put a smile on your face.

Brux Designs - History

Brian began capturing “life through a lens” at a young age, tinkering around with his Foster Dad’s camera when he wasn’t looking. Growing up in a home where his Foster Dad “Big Ollie” was a Wedding Photographer, Videographer and Entertainer, it is little wonder that Brian developed his artistic skills and love of Photography at a rapid pace. If there wasn’t a paint brush or a camera in his hands, then you would have been sure to find a fishing pole in their place instead, as the young Brian was also an avid outdoorsman.

Overtime, his passion for arts and photography developed, assisted by his time studying at the Glasgow College of Commerce, where Brian graduated with his Higher National Diploma in Retail Design. However, along with his passion for the “Arts”, Brian also had a burning passion for “People”. And so it was, that instead of pursuing a career in Photography & Design, Brian instead chose to continue his education in the Human Services field and so graduated three more times; obtaining Diplomas in Principles in Early Childhood Education, Youth & Community Studies and a Degree in Christian Ministry whereupon he became a Licensed and Ordained Minister through Colorado Bible College in America.

Using his education to enable him to help improve the lives of others, Brian then spent the majority of his life serving those less fortunate than himself. From working as a Family Development Specialist with Early Head Start in NY, to serving as a Residential Counselor with troubled teens through Kidz Ark in CO, or ministering as a Youth Pastor in the towns of Corning and Friendship, NY you could be sure that Brian was busy putting smiles on people’s faces. Then, in 2007 Brian’s life took an exciting turn when he met the love of his life – April Ruxton, his Princess! And so it was, following their honeymoon, the Ruxton’s settled down in the bustling town of Milton, nestled in the escarpment of the Halton Hills that overlook the town. Surrounded by such beauty and splendor, it is little surprise that Brian again felt the twitching in his index finger to shoot photographs of all the beauty that surrounded him.

Brian’s exciting young adulthood life had led him on many exciting adventures throughout the world, travelling to such destinations as England, Wales, Spain, Greece, Israel, Mexico, America, Canada, Bahama’s etc, and wherever he went, along too went his cameras. And so it is, that his love and passion for photography, and seeing the world through the eye of a camera lens never left him. Over the years, Brian has built up a large portfolio of memorable photographs and now, the time has finally come for Brian to take his photography to the next level – as a business. And so, it was with great excitement last year that Brian launched the birth of BRUX Designs. On August 5, 2011, Brux Designs became a legally registered business with the Government of Ontario, Canada.

Upon conversing with fellow photographers over the past several months, who highly recommended "Model Mayhem", I have finaly decided to join this exciting community comprising of fellow photographers as well as Models, Artists and Make Up Artists etc.

What do I "want from this site"? Hmm, that is a very good question indeed. To be honest with you, I want to be a blessing to this site, and the people on it, through sharing my knowledge, talents and abilities. I have always strived to assist others in succeeding in achieving their life's goals and dreams,and would love to continue doing so through my photography and design services. Secondly, it would be awesome to have the opportunity to work with and learn from others here to - to share knowledge, ideas and talents. I am always on a journey of learning and have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. And thirdly, I would like to continue building up my portfolio with photoshoots of some of the models here on Model Mayhem, while at the same time enabling them to build up their model portfolios too. Hopefully, in time, this will lead to all of us growing our reputations and thereby our careers.
