About me
I started photography as a Hobby many years ago, but took a break due to professional reasons in my main career which dominated my time. I am in the early stages of starting a business up, which will include setting up my own studio, so I want to build a new portfolio with a various range of models in different settings and locations, including studio. I am specifically looking to build a portfolio of people local to the Portsmouth/Hampshire area.
I consider myself an artist whose medium is photography. There's a subtle but important difference. Every model has a uniqueness that can be shown in art through photography. It is not just the stunningly beautiful people I like to photograph, but also ordinary looking people in unique artistic settings.
I am happy to help any new model or subject build up their Portfolio,regardless of their experience, as it is mutually beneficial as it will also build up my own portfolio. Signing a model release is mandatory for each shoot, though each contract allows the subject to use the photos taken for their own personal portfolio.
It’s great when my subjects are fun and adventurous and wanting to have a genuinely great time on the shoot, be willing to learn, or even in a constructive sense offer creative ideas and suggestions.
It’s always great to work with experienced subjects, but everybody has to start from somewhere. If you are new to all of this, and think you might have what it takes to get on in this business, I’m happy for you to contact me.
