I've been shooting for about 40 years, recently started emphasizing portrait work. I've had portraits exhibited in local galleries. I don't work for profit, I photograph for the pleasure of the work. I'm interested in authentic portraits -- real people, dressed as they normally dress, in an environment they enjoy and find interesting. Artists, writers, storytellers, actors, and other creative people are particularly interesting for me. I don't do nude, fashion, or erotic photography -- no judgement expressed, it is just not work that I'm interested in.
I've recently been shooting "pro bono" work, such as folks in hospice. To stimulate creative energy, I've been scheduling shoots with professional models. This allows me, and friends whom I shoot with, to explore poses and moods we don't get in shoots with hospice patients.
