Having a range of skills which have evolved from a product design background has played an important part in my progression as a fashion designer.
My design aesthetic: Contemporary conceptual fashion which incorporates an aspect of avant-garde. Having product design as an additional skill, I see an opportunity to utilise this knowledge to employ a unique approach to functionality with the possibility of designing a product where the silhouette/design can morph or develop into something other than its original form. I am intrigued by concepts which provide an element of surprise.
Design Interests: After recently indulging myself in literature on the design characteristics of the Japanese, I recognise some common ground in the way they design, and why, and so using unconventional pattern cutting and draping techniques and being able to provide my own perception of beauty will allow me to achieve my own version of what they refer to as, 'Wabi-Sabi'.
I would like the opportunity to work along side photographers and models who would like to showcase their own creative abilities in line with the fashion collections I have developed and manufactured.
