“…. I remain thankful to be a photographer. In the midst of the torrent of technology we swim in daily, the unchanging mission for all shooters is to make pictures that arrest the eye of the viewer and describe our chosen subjects eloquently. We are part of an honored tradition, that of storytelling, which goes back to the dawn of time. Those prehistoric people, painting on their cave walls—were they doing anything different than we are now, with all our pixels and technical wizardry? I think not. They were leaving their footprints, and telling the story of their times, and their lives. With those ancient pigments on those rough walls, they were saying one simple thing: Remember us.”
SO … CONSTRUCTION IS FINISHED. LOTS OF NEW IMAGES ARE UP.
... well... mostly finished! Always something going on, so check back often!
I am an experienced and published photographer. This is my real name. I have found it is better to do this than to have some generic studio name that leaves you wondering.... I prefer to work with a level of trust and consultation with my collaborators. This applies equally and especially with my clients!
However, as we all started out new sometime in the past and we all wondered "How do I get high quality images for my portfolio?", I would love to do TFs for new MM members in and around the Toronto area. My studio is in the central west end of Toronto near Royal York Road and The Queensway. I would love to meet and work with any models who are passionate about their work and the images that they display.
If you want high quality images for your portfolio or for your promotional work, let's get together to discuss the project.
As I said, I am an experienced photographer and have taken images in a number of genres. I shoot for two local magazines here in Toronto outside of the fashion industry, and have worked in the medical and research fields and have been involved in imaging in research and clinical laboratories for over 25 years. More frequently than you might think, the genres overlap and I can bring my expertise to bear on the current project and the images we are producing.
For us here on ModelMayhem, we can discuss either location shooting or being in the studio... either is feasible. Born and raised in Toronto, I know the area very well. However, in the winter here in Toronto, location shooting can be a real hassle. The studio is warm, so let's move indoors!
If you are a potential print client
, I shoot with all professional equipment including high resolution gear for larger prints and displays. I have contacts with MUAs and Fashion Stylists so these can be brought to the fore to raise the bar on your images! I shoot fashion, glamour, beauty, editorial fashion, product and other genres. I can focus on product and product placement to provide images targeted to specific demographics. Image placement and flow are important to a good campaign image. Let's work together to win over your client!
For you models out there, I want to work with you in a confident and respected environment. I will treat you with respect (my children are probably around your age, so I understand and respect that you are someone's child) and will work within your comfort levels. We will work together to provide the best images possible!
I look forward to meeting and working with you. References are available on request but please feel free to contact any of the models I have credited below. My experience with them is also positive. They have all been great collaborators and amazing professionals.
Contact me if you want to shoot. My rates are reasonable and as I said, I am always open to TFs for new models. It helps us both, helps to network, and can work for both of our portfolios. For a TF shoot, you will receive, usually within ONE week, up to 10 or 12 fully touched .jpg images with my watermark. They will have sufficient resolution to post here or on any other portfolio website or for FB, Twitter or other social media sites for self promotion. The watermark is subdued as you can see.
You can see some recent images here in my port, as well as my current site for my my general photography at www.tmstudios.ca
My alternative site, www.timmcgillportraits.ca
focuses (forgive the pun
) on my studio and portraiture work exclusively. This includes glamour, fashion and beauty images as well as boudoir and erotic images.
You can follow me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TmStudiosPhotography
NOTE: IF WE DO SHOOT, PLEASE ASK FIRST IF YOU WANT TO USE SOME OF THE IMAGES FROM EITHER MY WEBSITE OR HERE ON MM. IF YOU WANT TO USE THEM YOU WILL FIND ME PRETTY EASY TO DEAL WITH. IT IS REALLY DISAPPOINTING TO FIND IMAGES "OUT THERE" ON THE "INTERWEB" WHEN I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN GIVEN THE COURTESY OF BEING ASKED FOR USAGE.
I HAVE WAYS TO TRACK MY IMAGES AND I HAVE ALREADY ASKED TWO MODELS ABOUT WHY MY IMAGES ARE UP SOMEWHERE THAT I WASN'T AWARE OF. LET'S WORK TOGETHER AND NOT AGAINST EACH OTHER! AND PRETENDING TO BE SOMEONE YOU'RE NOT ... PSYCHO MAN!
AND THEY EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO CROP OUT THE WATERMARK… NOT GOOD!
RIGHT CLICK AND COPY, THEN EDIT TO REMOVE WATERMARKS IS NOT COOL MAN!
