After working as an award winning, fine art photographer and corporate video producer, Mr. Oliveras made his directorial debut in 2008. with WATERCOLORS, a film that garnered the prestigious Audience Award, sponsored by HBO, for Outstanding First Dramatic Feature at Outfest: The Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. WATERCOLORS was acquired and released theatrically by Regent Releasing in 2010.
In 2010, Mr. Oliveras was commissioned by the Palm Springs Cultural Center to serve as the Head Programmer and Artistic Director of Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
Mr. Oliveras was born in New York City in 1964. He studied art, music, photography and literature. Before turning his attention to film, Mr. Oliveras was an award-winning, nationally exhibited photographer and published poet. He is a graduate of the Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and the Performing Arts and has studied at Chapman University, UCLA and NYU.
He currently divides his time between homes in Houston and New York.
