About me
Megan Kenson has over 12 years dance experience, and 7 years of choreographic and instructive experience. Choreographic/instructive credits include the University of Arizona Jazz Dance Showcase, The Dance Spot, Eastlake High School Dance Company, and the So You Think You Can Dance – National Day of Dance. Megan has a firm understanding of commercial and concert dance. Completing four terms of scholarship at the Academy of Performing Arts in San Diego, Megan sharpened her technique in jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, musical theatre, and modern and was also able to receive training in other performing art forms inclusive of voice, acting, ballroom dance, and stretch/strengthening. Megan was awarded the Muse Scholarship by Blake McGrath and a temporary scholarship award for Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. She has worked as a choreographer and director for productions put on by the company Musical Theatre Los Angeles, and as a dance-based art teacher for the UCLA Community School in Los Angeles. She continues to teach at the John Wooden Center on UCLA’s campus and Beach Cities Dance in Manhattan Beach. She has performed in the Dance For a Wish – Make a Wish Foundation’s annual benefit show, PRIDE Festival, The Nicky’s – San Diego’s Academy Awards, and also in music videos for Grace Towers, and for Chris Brown, Tyga, and D-Lo. Megan is currently a member of Silverlake Contemporary Ballet, performing works by that of Sabrina Phillip (SYTYCD – choreographer) and Mike Tyus (Cirque de Soleil – principal male dancer) while she finishes up earning her B.A. in World Arts and Cultures with a Dance Concentration at UCLA.
Performance work has inevitably led her to modeling, and she finds it to be an exciting new means of exploring performance as an art form. Fitness, beauty, and fashion are essential aspects of the entertainment world that are integral parts of Megan's life. She ably approaches modeling with a eager and ready-to-do attitude.
