My name is John Haig.

Once upon a time I worked as a commercial photographer.  I did that for several years. Before that, I shot weddings for far, far longer than most marriages last.  I knew it was time to quit when I had several three-peat customers. (I think it was my "Third Time's A Charm" Discount that always brought them back)

Eventually I retreated to my farm in the boonies exactly halfway between Toronto and Montreal, an hour north of Syracuse and an hour and a bit south of Ottawa (the Frozen Capitol of the Magical Kingdom of Ice we call Canada)  I am presently working on a bunch of projects, mostly just to keep from talking to the cats too much. 

I consider myself a glamor photographer.  Which by my definition means that my focus is always on the model, not the clothes, hair , or makeup.  I make no apologies for this - I don't find any of that stuff terribly interesting. I do find women to be absolutely fascinating, however.

I have been photographing women for a very long time, much of the time simply for fun.  Anything I post on Mayhem is a result of those efforts. I do not usually hire models.  I do occasionally collaborate with them on works for publication or print sales.  I will work with anyone I find interesting, but I shoot images to suit myself...if you have an idea that you think might work with me, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I travel quite a lot, but when I do it's usually for another reason and I don't have a lot of time to shoot with models.  If I do, I will post it in a casting call.  I don't mind popping up to Ottawa or down to Syracuse...Montreal and Toronto take more convincing.
