I grew up under the glow of an orange safelight and with the smell of photo chemicals everywhere I turned. My interest in photography came from my parents, avid amateur photographers who encouraged me to follow my dream of becoming a photographer.
I graduated from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I majored in Photography, did photography in the US Air Force, was chief photographer for the Sun Newspapers in Omaha and freelanced for United Press International.
My photos have been published numerous times in the French photography magazine, PHOTO, the British auto magazine, Land Rover World and American magazines, Newsweek, Time, US News and World Report, as well as the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times newspapers among others.
I have taught photography at both the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metro Community College in Omaha, as well as currently presenting photographic workshops.
I have traveled extensively in Europe... England, Scotland and Wales, in France ... in Paris, Alsace, Marseille and Languedoc and in Hungary. I have also traveled across the Sahara desert in Mauritania and have spent time in Morocco. A lengthy trip to Guangzhou in south China was my first step into the beautiful and fascinating world of Asia.
I speak fluent French which I learned here at the University and at l'Université Laval in Québec City,Canada. I also speak some Russian and am currently taking classes to improve my Mandarin Chinese
