I originally graduated from Make-up Designory (Burbank, California 2005) with big plans of making a living as a makeup artist. At the time I didn't realize how much you have to work for free before you actually begin to actually earn a living. Since my landlord wouldn't accept "networking opportunities", "credits", "TFP" and "meals" in lieu of paying rent, I re-entered the world of retail to make a living.
I no longer want to make a living as a makeup artist, rather I want to enjoy the beauty and creative side of it. Some may call it a hobby. Yeah, maybe. However, I am proficient in all aspects of beauty makeup (custom mixing foundation shades, enhancing eye shapes, smokey eye, camouflaging blemishes and tattoos, false lash application, black & white photography, contouring, natural looks, etc.).
My ideal projects are TFP opportunities such as model photo shoots, print work, student films and film shorts that would allow me to build a portfolio and collect a few credits along the way.
