My name is Christina Artwell, and I’m an up and coming designer with about 2 years’ experience in the fashion industry with my own brand called MaaLeo Designs. I currently attend Brooklyn College, with previous education from Baruch College, and part-time Fashion Institute of Technology.

I design all my garment concepts from scratch, and also create my own patterns to then sew and piece together. I try to incorporate a lot of fun and cool urban designs, but I am branching out into more professional and sophisticated looks that still include use of fun fabrics.

My inspiration stems from Street Art and Out of the Box-Abstract Concepts. I aspire to make my clothes stand out in a unique way, while still making them fashionable and wearable. Some of the garments I create are for the sake of art, but the others that I play with can be worn casually.

I’ve had MaaLeo featured in two retail stores in the past year – Live Astro and Nippy Lavern – and am also in the process of establishing my own website.
I’m constantly trying to evolve by taking more classes, interning for established designers and seamstresses, as well networking with individual already in the industry; I’m also always trying to expand my business by doing collaborations.

I’m just a newborn designer seamstress with a distinct style and taste, making her way up in the fashion world with more to learn and gain. And I hope to gain and contribute to Model Mayhem as much as positively possibly -- photoshoots, fashion shows, fundraising events, etc .
