While pursuing an academic career I found that my greatest joy was to always have a camera around my neck. Having traveled extensively around the world I found that the camera made me constantly aware of beauty and constantly seeking beauty. For years I took mostly landscape photos because I was too unsure of myself to ask people to model for my shoots. I'm now changing careers and upgraded my equipment to a professional level thanks to encouragement from the hundreds of thousands of people who have viewed my photos online at Webshots and on Facebook. I know the first few years are going to be tough financially but I'm in a position to work for very little until my reputation is firmly established. I love photos that "appear" to be candid but am comfortable with studio work also as long as I can occasionally inject some creativity into the session.
