My name is John P Santos. Some people know me by my nickname Rabbitt.
I'm a photographer starting out a professional career, aiming to do fashion and alt-fashion as well as themed shoots with an emphasis on the surreal, natural, and supernatural, with subtle hints of fantasy that create a narrative. I've been working full time for the last year on my business Green Bee Media, and have just recently obtained professional gear to begin 2014 right which means now have a portable studio setup I can take to any location.
Goals for this year:
1) Do amazing work!
2) Collaborate with great artists, mua/h's stylists and wardrobe stylists.
3) Have my photos published at least once a quarter by local Toronto magazines.
4) At least one photo published in a national magazine by the end of the year.
5) Create a network of amazing people I've worked with through out the year and make magic happen for 2015.
I started as a nature photographer, doing mostly macro and natural scenes, and now I am incorporating natural environments and nature themes in my creative shoots with professional models. I've done a few of the shoots I have been planning, but a few have been delayed for a number of reasons. I have another set of shoots in the pre-production planning stage, mostly targeting magazines at this point, and I have been preparing to cast for specific roles in the narratives I have been developing for the shoots.
I'm hoping to collaborate with the diverse talent on Model Mayhem to do creative projects and further develop my portfolio as well as get paying gigs for myself and any talent I develop a good rapport with.
I am available for TFP gigs that strike my fancy with the right people and I'm looking to do TFP shoots with models here on MM, but I'm also here for professional work and my booking fee is $200, to start.
I also intend to organize a TFP event in my studio space about once every 2 months or so as to give new models, make-up artists and hair stylists a chance to create new portfolio material. This will likely be scheduled at quiet times between paid gigs but there will be specific themes.
