My name is Mike. I have been a photographer for over 40 years. I am now shooting mostly portraits, in my residential studio located in beautiful Kanata. The experience of dealing with other people as my subjects is one of the best experiences possible. Not only do I enjoy seeing my work on a large monitor in seconds, so do my models, experiencing each and every nuance as soon as the mood changes, as soon as the light changes, and as soon as the look changes. I enjoy most of all, that gotcha moment when you know you have captured the very essence of your subject, sometimes planned, sometimes not, but instantly recognizable to anyone watching.
I am now shooting portraits, in many different genres. Anything new excites me. Even at my age, I am still learning, learning my craft as well as learning the crafts of others in the field, models, make-up artists, and re-touchers. Experiencing a new world is what it is like when meeting someone new for the first time, with camera in hand.
Who am I looking for?
As an experienced photographer, looking for new models, with or without experience is one of the challenges I readily accept. After all, discovering new talent feels great for all concerned. And I am always trying to match new ideas with those models that i invite to my studio, whether professional type projects that I hope to market or amateur projects that are just for fun for all involved. Regardless, I will always try to keep the needs of the model in mind at the same time as including my needs to satisfy my concepts and my goals.
Please take note that if I contact you, it means I have checked out your portfolio and particulars and feel you would be a good fit for the concept I have in mind. In this case, I am waiving my regular fees for the shoot.
If you initiate the contact to me, I will consider TF work if I feel it adds something to my portfolio and if your ideas or concepts sound interesting, challenging or fun.
For other shoots, we can discuss my rates, which are available on my commercial site, http://Our-Life-Images.com as referenced above. Regardless, I am sure we can work something out to our mutual benefit.
I work from my home in Kanata (Kanata North) but I am also willing to consider other outdoor locations if that's what is needed for the concept to work properly. Locations such as the arboretum, Gatineau Park, and Andrew Hayden Park are just a few of the great spots we have in and around Ottawa that can become fine backdrops for my work.
