I aim to photograph beautiful, artistic, and powerful images and to create or enhance exceptional model portfolios. My photography focuses on fine art and editorial/fashion. I photograph to pursue my art — not as my profession. Thus, I work with models on trade shoots. In exchange for her time, the model receives a CD with copies of the images or physical prints (typically 8x10s) from the shoot. I provide my models with hundreds of full-resolution images that are suitable for printing or for use in online portfolios.
I consider my shoots to be a collaboration between the model and photographer; the outcome of the shoot should be images that contribute to both of our portfolios. I am constantly exploring new ideas, and I enjoy working with models who bring their own ideas to the shoot. While some of the models that I work with have prior experience, many have little or no experience — I am happy to shoot with inexperienced models who are serious and enthusiastic about their work.
Located in lower Manhattan, I work with models in New York city and surrounding areas. I recently moved to NYC from southern California, where I was focusing on beauty in nature. In New York, I hope to continue exploring similar themes while using my studio and the cityscape as the setting. I also spend a few weeks a month in Chicago (South Loop), and am looking for models to work with in my studio there as well.
If you would like to work with me on a trade shoot, please send me a message so that I can get in touch with you. My typical shoot lasts for 2-3 hours, which provides time to use several outfits, different locations, and to take hundreds of photographs. I mail photo CDs within a week of the shoot.
