I am a work of art from Detroit who possesses extreme talent in many forms of the art world. Recently, I started my own company called:

which is a clothing line that that is inspired by european clubwear, japanese street culture, and cyber goth styles. My website has just turned one years old. I am constantly adding new fashions to it.
Nerve Damage is a fun and expressive clothing company for both men and women. The designs are exhilaratingly unique and exploding with color. Launched in early 2004, Nerve Damage was created as the first tactile expression into founder Lauren Hart's mind.
Back to the basics, Detroit Michigan, where designer Lauren Hart was born. Detroit may not be the fashion capital of the world, but somehow in the middle of the dirty D, Hart's kaleidoscopic mind emerged. Inspirations for Hart's designs certainly don't just come from her home scene though, but rather, from all over the world. The Fruits books and magazines are must as well as European club wear. Other important influences are 60's and 70's fashion, Vita-Water bottles, Red Bull, hardware stores, mushroom clouds, new skool tattoos, music and Alex Gray paintings.
The phrase, Nerve Damage, has deep roots in Hart's life, as it is, quite literally, a part of who she is as a person. At birth, Lauren experienced a severe brachial plexus injury to her right arm and shoulder. This means that the network of nerves conducting signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand were seriously damaged. Lauren's doctors determined that it was quite likely that she would never have the ability to use her right arm. After many years of therapy in various forms, Lauren gained a great deal of usage of her right arm. Due to the permanent Nerve Damage, she could never fully develop triceps, and, to this day, can not feel parts of her arm or hand.
Although Nerve Damage is a highly successful global urban couture clothing company at present, plans to expand are in the works. Hart strives to one day design for the masses with her clothing in stores all around the world as to provide everyone easier access to life with a colorful twist.
Lauren currently lives in the Detroit area, is enrolled at the College for Creative Studies majoring in fibers, and is continually running with scissors.
