Currently 'cd-for-time' work only.
Over 16 years photographic experience. Attended the 'New York Institute of Photography' and found a deep interest in fashion photography since I bought my first 'real' camera back in 1998. I've worked 3 different photo labs including 'lab-tech/manager' for 3 years at Wolf/Ritz Camera. Shot 35mm film for 10 years, and digital the past 6 years or so. With 16 yrs. experience, meaning I know the standard print sizes for printing as well as proper cropping ratios (ie. photoshop) for printing and/or displaying photographs whether it be a print or displayed on a computer screen. I know how to 'read' my light.
Although I've never made a living at photography, there's a certain satisfaction that comes with it all. And that is the opportunity to create something and the reward in the end when you've finally reached your goal for what you can consider "awesome". And when the feeling is mutual for the model, it is truly something to be proud of.
That being said. I'm not someone who's recently got into photography due to an ease of digital. Although film has dissipated, much craft still exists among digital and all the principles of the art remain the same. The camera is an instrument which I believe must be mastered to some degree to experience the 'realm' of it all.
Interested in Erotic, Fetish, Pin-Up and Fashion style images that have impact and punch. Models such as Sinteque, Bianca Beauchamp, Dita Von Teese are an inspiration. Not to rule out high quality fashion images such as Vogue Magazine (especially those 500+ page issues) that I find inspirational as well. I'm a big fan of huge poster prints.
Like to keep my equipment minimal and use 'natural available light' when possible (tripod/lights indoors, handhold outdoors). I prefer to shoot in RAW with the models copy being in Jpeg format.
I shoot Sony DSLR's with either Sony or Minolta AF lenses.
Excellent knowledge on lens-optics and photographic printing.
Would be nice to shoot with people to help them achieve their goals and my own in return. Someday I'd like to put together a fetish book with striking images or a kind of coffee table book. Would also be interested in finding model(s) to shoot, where the model has their own website having 'sets' for sale or a 'membership' type thing where the model and photographer could both profit. Again, this is an idea.
I've recently upgraded my Sony to a newer model. Another reason why I'm here.
