There are several very good reasons for why this policy is in place, so if we are thinking of collaborating and you want to know what they are, I would be happy to share them with you.

MY PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE:
I WANT TO COMPLETELY RE-BOOT MY PORTFOLIO!!!!!!
I lost almost all of my photos to a hardrive incident, but I am taking this loss as an opportunity.
I am finding these days that I am inspired more and more by the thoughtful exploration of the female form, so I am moving more towards developing creative concepts that are more artful in nature, thus looking to move away from the more traditional form of Glamour Photography. I will however still be making serious attempts at a deeper, darker form of Glamour work, the kind of work that will challenge the Models ability to become art...not just a cute stationary prop. I say that to properly convey the idea that I am looking for great posers who are able to display confidence in their bodies (whether clothed or not) and are masters of their emotions to fill my portfolio on a paid basis at this time. I am willing to compensate handsomely for this, my Great White Buffalo... (Yeah, I know, I'm doin' the most right now...just bear with me)
If I send you one it's because I feel that your look and/or skill set will prove useful for a project I have in mind.
If you send me one I assume you want to work with me. (If I message you asking and you don't respond, then your request will be denied)
If I message you about a shoot and you ignore me I will delete you (If you won't work with me then what's the point)
That being said I am very particular about the types of Models I am willing to hire.
Because I stay pretty busy, I only have time to shoot (for my port) about 10 times or so a year. (I don't really do TF, it tends to be a waste of my free time- so if I am really interested in working with you I am glad to pay you)
I tend to hire Nude Models, even for shoots that are not nude, it just tends to be easier (but if you have a strong look and port I may make an exception).
I am willing to cover flights/travel and lodging for Models working on project that involve my Music Label or Film Company. (Every now and then I will travel a Model for a port shoot, if you REALLY ROCK)
If you are being paid by me I do expect you to show up and do your job while maintaining a certain level of respect, no matter who some previous photographer has convinced you that you are. You may be the star of your universe, but that does not make you the center of mine. I will end shoots with Models that are disrespectful.
I do check references (especially for Models I am paying), but I also have learned the hard way what references on this site are worth. With that being said please save the speech about how professional you are, and that you doubt you will still be modeling if you weren't, trust I have heard the speech from tons of Models on this site before, and it means nothing to me. The only concern I have is how I feel about the level of service you will provide for the shoot WE are collaborating on. (So I say again, I will not hire anyone that I cannot speak to briefly before booking)
If you are too good to accept my FR, I have no choice but to assume you are too good to accept my money.
I hate to have to address this, but it has proven to be necessary so here goes: I am a professional Singer/Performer, so I have no problem getting dates. If we decide to work together, trust me, I don't want to sleep with you. I would not EVER hire a Model that I felt would compromise my ability to behave appropriately.
I say that to say, please don't play yourself by assuming anything. This is the quickest way to get me to cancel a shoot. If I want something I will ask. If I haven't, then let it be. I am not here to be your self-esteem cheerleader, and I find using me and my kindness for such validation to be extremely insulting, and it will not be tolerated.
If I do decide to travel you in from somewhere else, I always require exclusivity. (I only hire Nude Models for shoots that require me to pay for travel and lodging, and if another photographer in my area wants to work with you, he should pay for your flight and hotel just like I did.)
If I have never worked with you before, it probably won't happen (I have trust issues), but if I should decide to pay a deposit, it will never be more than 25% of the total shoot rate, and I require an address, email and contact number. (Deposits are paid by Certified Company Check for all Music Label Projects)
My motto is "Pay them enough to do something, but don't pay them enough to do nothing."
Most of the time I am pretty basic when it comes to concepts. I feel like Models make photos, not props and backgrounds. (Some of the most moving photos I have ever seen have been taken against a plain white wall.)
I shoot using mostly natural light because I just like the way the photos look, plus I love the challenge of getting the shot without a lot of lamps and such all over the place, but I do have a 5 lamp lighting kit for those hard to reach places. (and I am always adding more gear to the creative arsenal)
I consider myself an advanced hobbyist in the pursuit of Art. I shoot with all different types of cameras from Polaroids to film to DSLRs.
I DON'T DEAL WELL WITH DIVAS (You were warned), but if you are easy to work with, and think our personalities would match well enough to collaborate, please feel free to contact me about rates and availability. Thanks for reading!
