My name is Spencer and I have been classically trained in the principles of design, but I am not completely bound by them. My love affair with photography began in a high school darkroom where I saw the exposures I took with my camera come to life. The process amazed me and I was never able to put my camera down after that.

In my former years, I spent weekends at rock shows photographing not only the show, but the backstage life that is rarely seen by fans. I was also heavily involved in action sports. I made images of skaters, snowboarders and wakeboarders in my free time. Little did I know it at the time, but I was developing an eye for anticipating movement and action which comes to my aid every time I pick up a camera to make an image.

Later, I became involved with a nearby studio where I was taken in and shown the magic that happens behind the scenes. I was taught lighting, studio processes and how to work with a team. I owe much of what I have learned to that experience and will never forget it.

I am currently working under the art direction of Art of When (#656210) and am being trained in the ways of a commercial photographer.
