makeup artist - hair stylist
I began my career as a hair stylist in 2003 working for Milo’s Hair Care. In 2005 I moved onto to work for From the Neck Up in Halifax, Nova Scotia as Salon Coordinator/Manager for approx. 3 years. Working amongst their team of talented artists had me itching to be behind the chair again. Feeling as if my creativity was being forgotten.
In 2007 I began working with photographer, Brent McCombs, which lead to work with many local photographers, as well as photographers from Canada and the US. Building onto my foundation as a hair stylist, I have expanded into makeup artistry. My strong understanding in beauty, glamour and fashion, as well film and video makeup is continuously growing. Due to the majority of film work being shot in HD, most of my experience over the past year has been shot with these cameras. With a growing understanding of how HD captures makeup and experience with make up for High Definition, I am able to produce quality work that I am proud of.
I am now a self employed freelance hairstylist and make up artist in Halifax, Nova
Scotia in both the film and photography industries. I am a referral member to IATSE local 849 and am working towards becoming a full member. I hope to achieve this within the near future.

Alter Ego Photogrpahy
I have teamed up with Brent McCombs, Alter Ego Photography on many projects. We have had great success and progress through working with each other. Our creative chemistry is a huge part of why we make a great team! Through traveling and workshops we have been expanding our techniques, in hopes to create great work without limitations. I am willing to work select TFP shoots*. I have a soft spot for art, and I am always open to hear about opportunities to be part of different projects. If you would like to work with me, please contact me through MM or email.
*When working on TFP I prefer to do both hair and makeup, as I like to only have my own work in my portfolio. In case I do only hair or makeup, I will always give credit to whomever worked with me on the project.
