My name is Reinhard Zapfe. I am a freelance photojournalist recently transplanted to Houston Texas. I specialize in motorsports, motorcycle stunt photography, and carshow coverage, and model portfolio development.
I have been working in the industry since 2001. After becoming discouraged at the show and lacking event coverage for shows based mostly in the midwest, and the OUTLANDISH pricing by most photographers, I decided to start up StepIntoTheDark.com.
I have been featured on sites such as Speedfreak.net, Full Throttle Midwest and the Riverfront Times, and my work is growing more in popularity everyday. The summer time will be a very busy summer for me, as usual, Covering such shows as Midwest Dragfest, Unleashed, S-SeriesNationals, and Sparks in the Ozarks, and that's just to name a few. Along with those I'll have the normal racing events, and stunt shows to shoot as well.
I've done shoots at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, for Pointfest with bands such as, Chevelle, Saliva, Sum41, 13 Days. Also shooting the Streetfighterz C&I 5 release party with bands such as Modern Day Zero, Sted Fast, and Sonic Reducer.
