10 Things to Know About ReneeModel
**********************************************
1. I am a very creative person and enjoy doing creative shoots. I'm not afraid to get messy, dirty, or shoot in weird locations.
2. My favorite shoots are Classic Retro Pin-Up, Characters, Gothic/Horror scenes, or any mixture thereof (think retro pin-up punk-rock witch). I love playing dress-up, even at my age.
3. I am a makeup artist and arrive to a shoot with my hair & makeup done and camera ready. I never rely on someone else to get me ready unless it's specified that a MUA will provided at no charge to me because the photog or designer has a particular look that they want for the shoot.
4. I provide my own wardrobe and props, unless a specific wardrobe is being provided for the shoot. I have a lot of theater experience and am good at putting together costumes and finding or making props.
5. I do not shoot nudes, UNLESS there is a logical reason for me to be so, and if/when I do any nudity (including implied) it is ONLY with a photographer I know well and trust. I am not a prude, rather I work with children of all ages and do not feel it appropriate for me to be taking off all my clothes for any & all cameras pointed at me (sorry, no famous MM "hand bra" on this page).
6. Like everyone, I prefer to get paid for my work-and to be paid more than just gas money.
PAID SHOOTS: My rate is $25 an hour (min. 2 hrs.) unless a specific flat rate is being offered up-front that is greater than my minimum rate of $50.
TRADE SHOOTS: I have a boutique called "Looking Glass Creations" and I encorporate my modeling work into the items I make (see the example in my portfolio). I will accept trade shoots ONLY if I am granted permission by the photographer to use the resulting images for my boutique. I will happily discuss details with you.
Here's an example of how I incorportate my modeling with LOOKING GLASS CREATIONS.
7. My best days to shoot are:
TUESDAYS: until 2:00 pm, prefer LA area
THURSDAYS: after 12 noon, prefer LA area
FRIDAYS: until 2:00 pm, prefer OC area
I can be available on the weekends, but ONLY for PAID shoots or trade shoots that will benefit LOOKING GLASS CREATIONS.
8. I like it when we can make a shoot appointment without the "when do you want to shoot" going back and forth. If you want to shoot, look at my availability above and then ask me about a specific date. We'll go from there.
9. I keep shoot appointments, and only "flake" if I really have to for work-related reasons (got to keep the boss happy-be honest, we've all done it). I show up on time, ready to shoot with hair/makeup done so we can get started right away.
10. I refuse to conform to another's idea of beauty and I don't beg people to like me or my work. I am who I am and I don't apologize for it. Take it or leave it. I fill my days with creativity and inspiration-may yours be filled with the same
MM Photographers I have worked with-feel free to ask any of them about me...I have nothing to hide.
