A larger portfolio is available on my
website.
If I send you a Friend Request, it means I would like to be able to keep in contact with you, whether to watch your portfolio grow or perhaps work with you sometime in the near or distant future.
I am looking at setting up a team of stylists/muas that I can work well with, if you are interested in working with me, send me a msg and we can meet up.
Have a great day.
*** Current Location :: Perth ***
I have just returned from a one year hiatus, and will be contacting quite a few models and stylists that I hope to collaborate with. I wish to expand my portfolio with Editorial styled fashion shoots, and personal projects (as described below).
I am currently working on a few personal projects. The majority of my work is an exploration of story telling through a series of images, each series will be based on a story, and each collection of series will be based on a theme.
I do not wish to follow the majority of other photographers, that when they do a photoshoot it is to get a few images that work well on their own, out of a couple of hundred images that they may shoot. The way I wish to work is to get a collection of images that work well together as a set to tell a story, and also that can work well on their own.
I believe I set up my shoots quite well, with storyboards written before the shoot, so everyone involved knows what needs to be done. In an ideal world, I would like a team of Stylists (Including MUA) to be at each shoot when possible, as I do not really wish to shoot without them.
If you wish to work with me, get in contact with me.
What I am looking for in models ::
- Emotive (Good at showing emotions, sadness, happiness etc)
- Character Acting (Able to take on a role of a character)
- Open Minded (Comfortable with who you are)
- Come prepared (If no Makeup Artist - With makeup, hair already done)
... ... (If no Wardrobe Stylist - Couple of sets of clothes within the theme)
- Take Directions Well (Ie, if I tell you to shout, shout)
- Punctual (Turn up on time, do not cancel at last minute)
- Keep in Contact (SMS/Mobile, confirm the day before)
- Photo ID (Passport, Driver's Licence ... No exceptions)
- Sign a Model Release (One before, one after the shoot)
On any typical shoot there will be probably around half a dozen people at the shoot. My ABN is 75 792 739 073, the government knows very well who I am and where I live, my name is everything. I am really down to earth and tend to become quiet while I am shooting, unless direction is required, waiting for the opportune moment to capture what I require.
The majority of my work is TFP, a group of people working together for a common goal of creating something beautiful. We all have costs associated with TFP, we all have to weigh up whether or not a shoot is worth not only it's monetary value, but also our time. I would like to think that my shoots are worth your investment.
The below is just to give you some idea about where I stand on specific subjects.
If I think we could work well together, I will accept TFP shoots.
Model releases - Two Model Releases must be signed; before and after the shoot, accompanied with Photo ID (Passport / Driver's Licence).
MUA/HS/WS releases - One Release must be signed; before the shoot.
Viewing the Photoshoot - You can view all the images from our shoot a few days after the shoot, however you will not be given a copy of the unprocessed photographs.
Digital Files - You will also be given low-res watermarked photographs of the images I choose to process. The watermark is quite small and unobtrusive, this is not to stop people stealing my work, this is just so if someone sees the photograph and likes my work, they know where to find me.
I have been thinking for quite a long time to the situation that plagues most photographers, the backlog of editing photographs after they are shot, which creates a time delay for the Models or Stylists involved as to when they can receive their copies of the photographs. My solution and feel free to improve upon it, is that I will select a few photographs to edit asap, the ones which I believe would reflect most strongly in your portfolio. However, the remainder of the photographers, (ie - the complete series) may take some time to complete. I believe this is quite a fair compromise to the situation that I require, as I would like to publish stories in a specific order, rather than the order of when they are shot.
** If you are a signed model and need unwatermarked, or printed photos, I am more than happy to accommodate that.
Flaking / Missing Appointments and Stuff
I am sorry that I have to write this section, the majority of models can choose to ignore what is written here.
It is really not that hard to send me an SMS saying you cannot turn up. Shit happens, I understand, you cannot make it, but ignoring phonecalls, SMSs and messages is not the way to deal with it. No credit is no excuse because you can still answer your phone, otherwise, make sure you have credit on the day of the meet or the shoot the same as I, and the other people involved do.
I am writing this because I very rarely work alone, I usually bring a Stylist or MUA to the pre-shoot meetings. I do not really care that much about wasting my own time, compared to wasting theirs, and seeing that I am the one who organises the shoot, it makes me look bad in front of them.
So, treat me, the team and yourself with respect.
- Turn up on time, this shows commitment and respect.
- If late, ring or send an SMS explaining the situation.
DO NOT: Ignore phonecalls, SMS, or messages. A simple Yes, No or I will think about it, will be sufficient over not answering.
