Artist’s Statement
Primo Tacca Neto, age 26

I have always had strong ties with my family, where great affection, love and perseverance prevailed, and this has contributed greatly to my development as an individual and as an artist. This is the wellspring of both my desire and my ability to learn to look behind the looks, see behind the eyes; to have a syntonic exchange, while clearly and faithfully portraying my exoerience.
My first attempt at artistic expression was through a brief stint as a guitarist with a band, but full or clear expression remained elusive. At this point, photography entered my life, and became a truly spontaneous and natural form of expression, without relevant education or background. In the brief time that I have been a photographer, I surprised myself by showing my work, first under a pseudonym, on Flickr. After 3 months of anonymity, as many people began commenting that they found my work interesting or inspiring, I began showing my work under my own name, and received some commissioned work as a result.

The high point of my brief career to date was when in August of this year, the Regional University of Blumenau, Santa Catarina, invited me to appear on a television program celebrating International Photography Day, to present and comment on my work.
Through photography, I am not seeking perfection, but rather, expression and reflection.
